A cowboy takes a vow of silence and secludes himself to the mountains of the Washington Territory. His self-imposed exile is threatened after he discovers an immigrant family homesteading on land nearby. When bandits begin to terrorize the family in order to steal the gold claim on the family’s land, the silent cowboy must decide whether to keep his vow of isolation or intervene.
